EU citizens enjoy the right of free movement and residence within the European Union and are therefore not subject to the provisions of the Austrian Settlement and Residence Act (NAG). Nevertheless, certain administrative steps must still be considered when relocating to Austria.
For example, the registration of residence and the issuance of an official registration certificate are mandatory for EU citizens in Austria.
