Innsbruck is the capital of Tyrol with around 130.000 inhabitants (300.000 people including the surroundings). Innsbruck is dominated by the high mountains surrounding the city, it is a perfect place for combining a cultural city break with sport activities like hiking and cycling, as well as winter sport activities. The landmark of the city is the “golden roof”, a historic building decorated to celebrate the wedding of emperor Maximilian. An important alpine city which includes other sightseeing points such as the imperial castle and the imperial church, castle Ambras and the historic city centre.
