The Alpbachtal is a valley in the Kitzbüheler Alpen in Tyrol – in the neighborhood of Wildschönau. The area is ranked in the Top 10 skiing areas in Tyrol. You can still find traditional villages in the valley with their romantic wooden houses. Famous tourist villages are Brixlegg or Alpbach, where the well known “European Forum Alpbach” is taking place every year. Famous speakers and attendees from Politics, Science or Economics from all over the world are participating every year since 1945 discussing the most important questions of the time. Like in most Tyrolian parts both winter and summer tourism is very strong in the Alpbachtal, not least because of the numerous beautiful mountain lakes. Tourism is clearly the main source of income in the valley.
