The Arlberg is a beautiful mountainside and also a traffic-wise important alpine pass shared between the 2 provinces of Tyrol and Vorarlberg. St. Anton am Arlberg (in Tyrol) is one of the absolute Hot spots for skiing tourism – not just for Austria, but also Europe. The village is pronounced Sankt Anton (or in English: Saint Anton), however, for most (non-German speaking) foreigners the village is also famous as “Stanton” (which is not correct of course). Apart from the skiing area (305 km ski slopes makes it the largest ski area in Austria) and other winter and summer sports opportunities, St. Anton also has a vobrant night life making it an attractive option for the community of young Europeans who descend here. The village still preserves the charm of a Tyrolian alpine village in spite of its popularity.
