The Südburgenland is one of 3 parts of the province of Burgenland. The landscape is dominated by rolling hillsides – although the elevation never exceeds 400 m. Like the whole province also the Südburgenland is famous for its wine regions (a speciality of the Südburgenland is the so called Uhudler), but also for some excellent thermal resorts (e.g. Bad Tatzmannsdorf). Very typical for the region are the houses with their thatched roofs. Hiking, cycling or golfing in Austria’s biggest Golf resort are popular activities in the region.
