The region around Villach in Carinthia with its famous lakes, the Faaker See with its small island and the biggest of the lakes, the Ossiacher See are very worth visiting, especially for a summer holiday. The lakes get up to 26 degrees during summertime, there are a lot of nice hiking and cycling tours in the region, and Italy and Slovenia are very close. Also the regional capital Villach, with its numerous, fabulous pedestrian zones must not be missed.
