The Berchtesgadener Land is added to the list of the best regions in Austria – although, it is not an Austrian region, but a German region. However, just like a peninsula, it is almost surrounded by the Austrian province Salzburg. The region is a nice location for summer tourism, especially for hiking. The panorama of the village Berchtesgaden is dominated by the imposing view to the second highest mountain of Germany, the Watzmann.
