The Villgratental is part of the Pustertal in Osttirol and one of the most original nature landscapes in the Alps. The region is still dominated by mountain farmers with their wooden houses on steep hills. Its main villages are the romantic Außervillgraten and Innervillgraten. Fantastic for cycling and hiking as well as ski touring with a view to the highest mountains of Austria, for instance along the more than 75 km long “Herz-Ass-Villgratental-Gebirgswanderweg”, so called because of its heart shaped path. Fantastic nature experiences – for those who prefer calm holidays away from mass tourism.
