The Böhmerwald region describes the mountainous area at the borders between Germany, Czech Republic and Upper Austria, a part of the Mühlviertel. It is a wooded area with a rough climate, but visitors of this region like the area because of that, especially for hiking. Underdeveloped post second world war the region has recently been turning into a very nice touristic area with fancy touristic attractions for summer and winter tourism, nice spa hotels and exclusive restaurants.
