The Mühlviertel is one of 4 quarters of the province of Upper Austria (also check under Böhmerwald Region). It is located in the north of the Danube and has borders with Bavaria in Germany and South Bohemia in Czech Republic. Typical touristic activities are hiking and cycling and relaxing in one of the numerous wellness “temples” of the Mühlviertel. An alternative is a holiday on a typical Mühlviertler farm house. Finally the Mühlviertel is well known for a couple of excellent beers, produced in local hop gardens.
