The Gurktaler Alpen are part of the Central Alps and border 3 Austrian provinces: Carinthia, Styria and Salzburg. It is a beautiful hiking area including a famous alpine pass – the Turracher Höhe – and a couple of beautiful alpine lakes – such as the Dieslingsee. For those who prefer skiing there is another attractive alternative, Bad Kleinkirchheim.
