The “Silver region” Karwendel is located between the Tuxer Alpen and the Karwendel mountains in Tyrol (of which a small part is even reaching across to Bavaria in Germany). The region includes 11 smaller villages such as Jenbach and a well maintained city dating from the middle ages, Schwaz. It is known for simple hiking and mountain bike tours in summer time and for Nordic skiing, ski touring and tobogganing in wintertime, ideal for families.
