The Kleinwalsertal is situated in the Allgäuer Alpen and is belonging to the Austrian province of Vorarlberg. However, because of the unique topography of the mountains, there is no direct connection to the rest of Vorarlberg and the valley is only reachable over Oberstdorf in Bavaria (belonging to Germany). That is why there is a very close connection to the Allgäu in Germany. The beautiful valley is popular both for summer and winter tourism and especially recommendable for families (skiing, cross-country skiing, hiking, mountain biking and very good spots for dining).
