The Tannheimer Tal is a so called high valley in Tyrol with an elevation of 1.100 m consisting of 6 villages in the Tannheimer mountains, which are part of the Allgäuer Alpen. In wintertime it is a small skiing area, suitable for families. In summertime the valley is popular with hiking tours – according to the “German Wandermagazin” it is the most beautiful hiking area in Austria (72% of all readers voted for this region out of 18 regions). One of the reasons might be the pureness of the region and its people, both getting the best score in terms of authenticity, which makes tourists feel comfortable and welcome.
