The Salzburger Seenland is a region in the north east of the province of Salzburg. The name is pointing out the large number of lakes within a small area, the Wallersee, the Obertrumer See, the Mattsee and the Grabensee as well as the smaller Egelseen in the middle of a marsh area. However, the lakes and its region must not be mixed up with the also nearby Salzkammergut lakes south east of this region. It is exclusively reserved for summer tourism (e.g. bike tours), especially attractive for tourists of the city of Salzburg which is very close.
